Following a fantastic response, we are proud to announce we have raised an impressive £4,500 for our designated charity of the year, SUDEP Action.
SUDEP Action is the UK’s only charity specialised in supporting those bereaved by epilepsy and is dedicated to raising awareness of epilepsy risks & tackling epilepsy deaths.
An online charity raffle was launched with prize donations from a number of organisations including Diddibox Flowers; Jessie’s Cottage Cakes; Natalie Roche beauty; Next; Swiscot Textiles; Swizzels; Inform Communications; Savills, Dunwoody; Woods Hardwick and Boathouse White Mills Marina
Speaking about the charity, Jill Kittos, executive assistant at Tritax Symmetry, commented: “Having personally experienced the devastating impact of losing a loved one to SUDEP, I can’t explain how invaluable their support is to families at such a tragic time. Raising £4,500 to support this charity is a fantastic start and I want to thank all of our partners for their support in donating prizes and buying tickets. We will be undertaking more activities during the rest of the year to support the charity, including our very own Tom Leeming who is swimming the length of Lake Windermere to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
Jane Hanna OBE, SUDEP Action CEO at SUDEP Action: “Each week at least 21 people with epilepsy die suddenly with the greatest age risk of SUDEP between the ages of 20 – 45. Raising awareness is vital as most people diagnosed with epilepsy aren’t even aware of the risks of SUDEP. In this challenging time, charities urgently need financial support now more than ever and I would like to thank Tritax Symmetry for choosing us and helping support so many families throughout the UK.”
